today's economic times, purchasing a used copier offers quite a value over the cost of buying or leasing a new copier. Most copiers today have been designed to last between 500,000 impressions (for the typical 25cpm copier) and 7,000,000 impressions (for the typical 60cpm copier). Regardless if a copier is a new copier or a used copier, quite typically (and by design) only the copier’s consumable parts (drum, rollers and such) need to be replaced during the copier’s useful life. Typically, the non-consumable components in a used copier last for decades with proper cleaning and maintenance.
Purchasing a refurbished copier will save you the cost associated to the initial depreciation of a new copier. Quite typically a used copier can be purchased for somewhere between 10% and 20% of the copier’s original retail price, while still retaining all of the modern copier technology features such as network print, scan and fax.
